“Armor of God Project”

The Armor of God Project was formed in 2009 and has partnered with Ten-Four Ministries (www.tenfourministries.org) to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and supply outdated body armor to Law Enforcement Officers in America and across the globe.

After a mission trip to the Philippines in 2008 we became aware of the need for body armor for the Philippine National Police. The Muscle Shoals Police Department along with Parkview Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, Al coordinated with a Church in the Philippines and Task Force Tagaligtas (www.tagaligtas.org) to have 24 outdated vest shipped to the Philippine National Police in Calamba City .

On August 20, 2008 a day after being issued a vest from Muscle Shoals, a ranking Philippine Police Officer was involved in a shooting with three carjacking suspects and the officer was shot point blank in the chest. The 9mm round struck the trauma plate stopping the bullet and the officer’s life was saved. The officers returned fire and all three suspects were killed.

There are two things that will never change in Law Enforcement. The first is our mission to protect and serve our communities and fellow citizens. The second is our commitment to working as a team to accomplish that mission, and that mission has grown more dangerous each and every day.

How do we protect our fellow Police Officers on the street while at the same time protect our communities from crime? I believe through partnerships and technology, our strength is in our commitment to teamwork. Men and women who are dedicated to protecting others from violence should not become a victim. Whether you serve in an agency here in Alabama or the other side of the world in the Philippines , our personal safety and that of all we are sworn to protect depends on our ability to work as a team.

I ask each of you to partner with us in supporting the “Armor of God Project” by donating your outdated body armor and help make the streets safer for our fellow officers. We will arrange for the pick up and delivery of the vest at no cost to you and you and your agency will be receive a hold harmless release of liability for the donation.

Thank you,

ATOA Teams at the World SWAT Challenge

Two of our ATOA Teams were invited to the Original SWAT Boot's World SWAT Challenge. The ATOA 2005 Champion Team, Chilton County  and AL State Trooper Team #3 (2005 4th Place) traveled to Little Rock, Arkansas, to  compete with teams from all over the world. Our guys competed with the likes of Dallas SWAT, the German GSG-9 & San Antonio SWAT, all strong competitors. Several of the pairings placed both teams in side by side competition with the above listed powerhouses. One event, the Sniper Surprise, had the two ATOA teams lining up in side by side competition. The competition was on 29-30 March 2006. Results can be found at the Original SWAT World Challenge website- www.worldswatchallenge.com
